Washington Fine Properties Claims Top 2024 Year to Date Sale in Loudoun County

Washington Fine Properties (WFP) is proud to announce the sale of “Bolinvar”, one of the premiere equestrian estates in the renowned Virginia Hunt Country, minutes outside the historic town of Middleburg.

This important sale closed for $15,500,000, achieving the highest sale in Loudoun County year to date. Debbie Meighan of Washington Fine Properties represented the buyers at 36987 Mountville Road.

The spectacular property, last sold in 2008, was listed in May of this year for $15,500,000 on 325+ acres. Months later, the property was also offered on 100 acres for $9,500,000. The listing was contracted in late September on the total acreage at its full asking price, preserving the entirety of the estate.

“Bolinvar is a very important sale for the countryside and for the local community. With ever encroaching development, it is more crucial than ever that these great estates remain intact,” Meighan said. “And these buyers are dedicated to that.”

Built in 1925, the Bolinvar Stone Manor stands at nearly 100 years old. The regal gated entry opens to a winding, tree-lined path surrounded by pastures and greenery. The magnificent estate boasts 22 total rooms, 7 bedrooms, 6 full baths, 2 powder rooms across 4 elegantly curated levels and 10,629 square feet. Showcasing 11 fireplaces, stunning gardens, a heated pool overlooking picturesque, verdant fields, extensive frontage on Goose Creek, a stocked pond, 2 courtyard style stables with 33 stalls, 2 outdoor riding arenas and a state-of-the-art indoor arena with 16 additional stalls, this residence is an exemplary representation of quintessential Hunt Country estates and continues to honor the rich equine history and essence of the area.
